Fabulous Sapphire Juliana Brooch

This is a gorgeous sapphire blue brooch. Sapphire marquise stones are open backed and alternate with blue AB chatons. These form a ring that tilts upward at the sides. The bottom layer has a huge sapphire chaton in the center and is surrounded by a ringlet of AB chatons. The pattern of alternating marquise and chatons continues at the bottom but with much, much larger chatons. This brooch is so brilliant, a detail very difficult to capture with a lens. It measures 2 1/2" across. It has tiered construction, heavy plating, combination of open and closed back stones, single pin stem construction...characteristics of Juliana jewelry. This brooch is a "must have" for those that covet & collect high quality "designer" (but unsigned) rhinestone jewelry produced in the 1960's. The stones are in perfect condition with only a slight arch in the pin stem.
