"Hammered Copper" Demi Parure~Book Piece!

This is quite an unusual set. It was made to look like hand hammered aged copper in Arts & Crafts style. It is more bronze in color and has dimples and divots. The large plaque in the center is flanked by smaller, graduating sections. This articulated and movement is possible because of the wiring that runs in the back. This "pectoral necklace" is so called because of the way it lays in the chest. Small sections are cut away and leave Art Nouveau style stems. These have been set with crystal rhinestone chatons. The chain is called "tank track", is 1/2" wide and secures with a fold-over clasp. The largest section at the front is 1 3/8" and the total length of the necklace is 18" end to end. But it gets even better because the earrings are here, too. They are made with pieces the same size as the center & smallest plaques combined. These are articulated, too. These are posts which were designed to fit through clip backs. The benefit to this style is that the clips add more support to the earlobe otherwise they'd be too heavy to wear. The earrings are 2 1/4" x 1 1/2"...see, they're really big! This necklace can be found on page 230 of Fred Rezazadeh's book "Costume Jewelry". I bet he wished he had the earrings, too! This set is in excellent condition!
