This very unique doll is a Jesuit Priest doll with the original tag. He is a folk art type doll - fabric formed doll with hand painted ceramic face. He wears black pants and robe with an aged white overlay trimmed in lace. He has black short hair and is wearing black sandals. He is also wearing a black beaded belt with a wooden cross attached to it.

He shows aging of hair and fabric. He is approximately 10" in height.

There is no original boxing with him, but he does come with the original shipping box. This is a very interesting box and shows clues of his history. The box is in excellent condition and has the original shipping label intact. The company logo reads "Kimport Dolls/from the Whole Wide World/Independence, Mo.". The label is addressed to the "La Rose Shop of Joliet, Illinois". (This was the family owned shop of the original owner of the doll). There are two stamps on the box, one for five cents and another for 10 cents. I have been told these stamps were first issued in 1938 and are called the 1938 Presidential Series. These series of stamps were used for several years. I date this package to 1947 because the doll is still wrapped in the original newspaper used and it is dated 1947.
