Bisque Oriental Japanese Boy Child Doll Japan Marked

This all original doll was made in Japan. It is a little Japanese boy in traditional clothing. He is wearing the silky cotton pants and shirt. He wears a black wig with original ornamental headband. His wig is detached from his head. There is no damage to it except for the looseness of the headband on it. He has a bisque head, handpainted features with glass eyes. There are some minor marks on his face that can probably be cleaned off. I will leave it to the new owner to do that. He has jointed arms and legs. His shoes are painted black.

I do not know the exact age on this doll, but he is very old. I would guess from 1920 - 1940. His torso is flat and is supported with a cardboard insert and cardboard "box" to give the impression of a "tummy". The painted shoe on one foot has a chip out of it and you can see the inner leg material. (Because of the length of his pants, this does not show unless you are looking for it.)

The bottom of one shoe is painted with the mark "Japan". He also has a mark on the back of his neck. I can't make out all of it - it is a grouping of marks - the only number I can make out is "6".

This little guy is about 6 1/2" high. He is from the original owners family and has been in storage for several years.
