Vogue "Jennie" 19 1/2" Southern Belle Make-Up Doll - 1940's

This pretty doll is the Vogue "Jennie" 19 1/2" Southern Belle Make-Up Doll. She was manufactured in the early to mid 1940's. She is from the original owner's family. She is a composition doll - unmarked. Her clothes are tagged with the blue and white "Vogue Dolls, Inc./Medford, Mass. She is all original with her original box. She has blonde hair in curls with bangs. She is wearing a pink flowered print bonnet, trimmed in ecru lace and tied with a black ribbon. Her dress matches the bonnet print and is a wonderful long flowing fabric dress with a ruffled neckline resting on her shoulders. The dress is tied at the bodice with a criss-cross black ribbon. The ruffled hem and neckline are trimmed in lace like her bonnet. She also wears a pink petticoat, pink underpants, white socks and black leather-type shoes. She is wearing a pair of black mesh wrist gloves. She is carrying a matching little bag/purse of her cosmetics. It contains the original small mirror, powder puff and small container of powder (powder still in it). She has a hand painted face showing a pretty smiling mouth that is open and showing four teeth. Her eyes are a pretty green that open and close well.

The only aging she shows is crazing. You can see it some on her face and her arms and legs. Her joints (neck, arms and legs) seem a little loose.

Her box is original and in good condition. One corner of the lid has come loose. She has one cardboard restraint. There is a Vogue label on the end giving her description.
