1870's Silver Plate English Teapot

Elegant and Graceful. This teapot is ornately decorated with floral swags and scrolls around the oval body. The straight spout is clear of etching and the delicate handle is gracefully curved. The hinged lid has the floral etching and a wood finial.

There is a tag with this teapot that reads "Old English Plate/Teapot/No. 33971". The tag also has the stock number and dates the teapot to 1870. The number mark on the bottom of the teapot read "AB??/115/4". I cannot fully make out the entire marking.

This is a beautiful old teapot. The silver plate is in good condition, but may be thin in places. The hinge on the lid is in good condition . The inside of the teapot is clean though it shows use. I do not find any dents but there are slight use lines and it looks like the handle may have been repaired where it attaches to the top of the teapot. I do not have any information on this though.

This teapot measures approximately 6 1/2" tall (to the top of the finial), 11" from the tip of the spout to the end of the curved handle and 4 1/2" across the top of the teapot.
