This Genuine Tortoise Shell Carry All Minaudiere Compact is amazing. The outside looks like a plain tortoise shell item. The interior has four compartments. Three of the compartments have doors with tiny tortoise shell knobs.

The interior top houses a beveled mirror that is kept in place by a brass fitting. The backside interior, has a compartment for the comb. The original comb is still in tack. The lipstick compartment has a doomed shaped lid. The powder compartment has the original tortoise shell powder shifter. There is also a lidded compartment for cigarettes. All of the hinges are brass. The push in clasp closes securely.

There is a small crack on the underside of the compact that is barely noticeable that does not interfere with it appearance or closure. In fact, I did not detect it until I viewed the photos (see photo #9).

My research determined that this compact was made in France, but it is unmarked. It measures 5 inches wide x 4 inches deep x 1 1/4 inches high.
