About Us
My passion for collecting began over 25 years ago. After moving into my home, I purchased a set of chest of draws from a large retail chain. I thought the price that I had paid at that time was pretty substantial. After about a year of opening, closing and over stuffing the draws, I realized the the chest was made of particleboard and would not last another month. I went a consignment shop to look for a replacement. After inspecting several pieces, I noticed that the wood and the craftsmanship of the older furniture was far superior. My reasoning was, if it has been around for 50 years, it will be around 50 more years. I vowed never to buy new, but to buy excellent quality old. My dad would always say, "They just don't make things like they use to." He was right. That old set of chest of draws was the first piece in my vintage collection, and I still over stuff it and it is still standing strong.

As a collector, I find beauty in form, cleverness of design, and quality craftsmanship. I feel it is my responsibility to preserve a piece of history. I carefully and joyously dust, clean and polish a piece and wonder about the previous owner. When I look at an exquisite evening bag, I wonder about the woman who carried it. I think about the love and concern that was put into saving scraps, rags and old clothes to make a quilt to keep the family warm on cold winter nights. I feel that I am called to collect because some things evoke loving memories from my childhood. All of these things are a part of our history.

I have many items that I treasure, admire and enjoy. My dad would always say, "Nothing is truly enjoyed unless it is shared." Again, my dad is right. I no longer have the space on the wall to hang another painting. I have a closet just for my handbag collection. I just can't wear them all! There is no room on my baker's rack for any more kitchen collectibles. I don't have enough beds to display the beautiful quilts. Consequently, the radios, clocks and many other treasured items, I offer to you for your consideration. I hope that you will share them with your sons, daughters, family and friends because I believe that when you share something that you love, you are also sharing a part of you. Relax, browse and enjoy!
