This Staffordshire Spill Vase measures 12 1/2" tall. It is labeled on the base THE RIVAL. The spill is a tree. Standing behind the tree is a man spying on the seated lovers. The woman is holding a stringed musical instrument. This piece is in excellent condition. It does have crazing consistent with the age. This piece is pictured on page 327 of Harding's book, "Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-75".
