This lap desk is quite nice. I wonder if it could be a lady's desk since the top is inlaid with various color woods in a floral design. It also has a frame of inlay adding to the decorative quality. The top is domed. The box measures 12" x 9" x 5 3/4". The inside of the box has a folding desk surface covered in dark blue velvet. There is a pencil tray and holes for the ink bottles. There is a slot holding a straight edge. There is a lock and key. There are a few scratches. A tiny piece of veneer is missing just above the lock.
