Lovely Gilded Flow Blue 9" Plate, Charles Meigh, CHAPLET

This plate is most unusual in that the background has a green chintz print of tiny flowers. There is a ring of roses in cobalt blue around the edge of the plate. A corresponding flower is in the center. The edge is heavily scalloped and molded with gilding. The bottom is marked CHAPLET C M S & P. This mark was used by the Charles Meigh Son & Pankhurst Staffordshire Pottery 1850-1. There is also an impressed mark Porcelain C.M. This plate is in excellent condition.
