This large oval platter measures 15" x 18". It has a dark cobalt blue in the design which is transfer printed in brown. The plate would be considered polychrome for the design is filled with reds and greens. There is gilding around the edge with a polka dot gold outlining the pattern. The bottom is marked Furnival's VERSAILLES England Rd. No. 221872 (ca. 1890). This platter is part of a set. This platter is a bargain for there is a large tight crack about 4 1/2" long.
