Even though this teapot is not marked, it can easily be identified as Homer Laughlin by its shape and the unusual handle. It is shown page 161 of Mary Frank Gaston's book, "Blue Willow". This teapot measures 10" from spout to handle and 4 1/2" tall. This teapot has been used extensively. The lid is very stained as well as the inside of the teapot. There is a chip inside the lid of the teapot. This teapot would be fine to be used or added to a blue willow collection.

This pair of measures are a bit unusual. The lip of both appears to be brass. I have not seen this before nor have I found any document. The measure verification touch mark on the rim (VR Crown 349) as well as the measure (Gill and Half Gill) is on the brass rim. The bellied (bulbous) bell has a thick band around the seam. Another early biscuit tin. This one is easily recognized as a Bell. The embossed lettering reads, "When Ye Doe Ringe, I Sweetly Sing". How cool is that? The motto was used fairly often on church bells. The finish is oxidized copper. There is a handle on the hinged lid. The bottom is marked Huntley &Palmers Biscuits Reading London England. There is some finish loss, but overall the tin is in very good condition. This tin measures 7" tall and 6" in diameter at the bottom.

This urn or vase shaped antique tin is a wonderful find. After much searching I found the tiny marks on the bottom, Hudson Scott & Sons Ltd. Carlisle. That dates this tin before 1922. Hudson Scott was one of the first manufacturers to do offset lithograph in making the tins. They were closely associated with Carr Biscuit Manufacturers. This is a pair of Staffordshire dogs. They are a pair and they measure 10" and 10 1/4". As often the case, one is slightly larger than the other. They are white with black noses. Strangely, the chain still has it color. The collar and tag are completely worn. I believe the noses have been repainted. The condition is good. There is a chip on the base under the glaze. This pair of dogs seem to be crudely made with lots of stray marks (indentations) from the molds.

This is a Staffordshire spill vase figure of Little Red Riding Hood seated beside a wolf. She is wearing a red bonnet, red shawl, and a dress. The height is 10 1/2” and the base measures 5.5” x 2.5”. This figure is in excellent condition. The top left limb of the tree has been broken off. There is tight stable hairline in the back. There is crazing consistent with age. There is some flaking to the paint. The reference is: Harding I, page 318, figure 1164. (1835-75)

This Staffordshire figure stands 6 1/2" tall. It is very colorful. The dancers are unidentified. There are holding a long scarf making an arch. It is not marked, but certainly 19th century. This pewter measure has a bellied or bulbous body. The handle and the thicken band over the seam at maximum body diameter dates this measure to 18-26-50. The measure measures 3 3/4" in height and 2 3/4" in diameter. The neck is marked "half pint". The rim has the initials S.C. Under that it has possibly "NcF". This one has seen better days in that is is dented and bent. Still I nice early measure.

I love the pattern on this 19th century English waste bowl. There is a small flower in four areas on the outside. The inside is decorated with scallops of blue and pink lustre with tiny flowers in the loops. The bowl6 5/8" measures 5 7/8" in diameter and 3 1/2" deep. There are no marks which is characteristic of this early lustre. There are no chips or cracks. There is some staining. I have matching teapot and cup & saucer listed separately.

She a a lovely long turquoise skirt. The base has a gilt stripe. This piece has a couple of problems. The gent's head has been broken off and repaired. The woman has a tiny chip from her nose. Still lovely serene piece.
