According to Petra Williams' book on Flow Blue China this pattern was made famous by Robert Adams in the 1770's. This is a lovely set of 4 flow blue 9" soup plates. The blue is a beautiful flow blue. The edge is scalloped and outlined with beading. The design is embossed with 1/4" scrolls. The soup plates are marked, but the marks are blurred. The pattern is MELBOURNE and the maker is W. H. Grindley. According to Petra Williams "Flow Blue China" this pattern is circa 1900. All four soup plates are crazed. There are no chips or cracks.

This flow platter is one of the earlier platters from the mid 1800's. Although the maker is unknown, I would say it is English. The blue is a deep blue with an oriental theme. It measures 10 1/2" x 13". The shape is rectangular. The rim is decorated with baroque scrolls and flowers. The central theme has a pagoda and large flowering tree. It is marked with the pattern. Excellent condition. One glaze pop on the front.

The pattern is DELAMERE and the maker is Henry Alcock circa 1900. This platter is in very good condition. Some wear to the gilding and light crazing.

Each of this set of flow blue dessert plates measure 7 1/2" in diameter. The blue is a deep cobalt blue. The scalloped edge is gilded and sponged around the rim. This is a rare pattern. The bottom is marked GTM Stoke ORCHID Rd. No. 970654. This is the George Thomas Mountford Staffordshire pottery 1888-98. There are the beautiful orchids as well as birds and butterflies. 2 of the plates have a tiny edge chip. All 4 are crazed. The gilding is worn on all four. The price is for the set.

The bottoms are marked with an English registry mark 448726 MIKADO Grimwades Staffordshire England. This dates these plates to 1905. I have a set of 8. 5 are in excellent condition with only a few utensil marks. 2 plates have a chip on the underside rim. 1 have some marks on the face of the plate. These plates would be wonderful to use. Nice to find a set. The price is for the set.
