This Staffordshire figure is modeled after the poet, John Milton. He is leaning on a pillar with a cloak over his shoulder and a book in his hand. He can be seen on page 87 of A. J. Harding's Book 1, "Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875. He measures 7 1/2" tall. There are tight hairlines on the base and across the ankle.

This is a 19th century white Staffordshire Dog or Spaniel. It measures 7 3/4" tall. It has painted eyes and a black painted nose. It has gold or lustre highlights. There is a tight hairline on the base tail. Otherwise this dog is in very good condition.

This is a pair of Staffordshire dogs. They are a pair and they measure 10" and 10 1/4". As often the case, one is slightly larger than the other. They are white with black noses. Strangely, the chain still has it color. The collar and tag are completely worn. I believe the noses have been repainted. The condition is good. There is a chip on the base under the glaze. This pair of dogs seem to be crudely made with lots of stray marks (indentations) from the molds.

This is a Staffordshire spill vase figure of Little Red Riding Hood seated beside a wolf. She is wearing a red bonnet, red shawl, and a dress. The height is 10 1/2” and the base measures 5.5” x 2.5”. This figure is in excellent condition. The top left limb of the tree has been broken off. There is tight stable hairline in the back. There is crazing consistent with age. There is some flaking to the paint. The reference is: Harding I, page 318, figure 1164. (1835-75)

This Staffordshire figure stands 6 1/2" tall. It is very colorful. The dancers are unidentified. There are holding a long scarf making an arch. It is not marked, but certainly 19th century. This 19th century Staffordshire figure measures 6" tall. It is very detailed in its moulding. The painting is wonderful. It has a seated piper on a rococo style base. He is holding bagpipes in both hands, wearing a hat, long jacket, waistcoat, and breeches. There are no marks. It is in excellent condition. You may see this figure on page 403 of Harding's book "Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875".

I am calling this a dish rather than a plate for it is not round and has raised sides. The design is leaves, strawberries, and grapes. The rim of the dish is scalloped. There is pooling of the green in the lower bowl. The dish measures approximately 9 1/2" in diameter and nearly 2" tall. The bottom is not marked. It is English from late 1800's. There are several stilt marks on the bottom. No chips or cracks.

There is a rope around the neck. The neck is turquoise. The bulbous body is decorated with bold water lilies. The bottom has an 11. The pitcher shows it age with heavy crazing. There is a chip on the spout. A smaller chip on the base. Nothing radical.
