Popular today is decorating with mirror covered frames and furniture. These circa 1950 frames are just perfect for that decor. Each frame measures 9 1/2" x 10 1/2" (outside) and 4 3/4" x 5 3/4" (inside). The width of the frame 2 1/2" on a side. It extends 2 1/4" from the wall. The wood is covered in mirror with gold veins (squiggly lines). There is some crinkle to the silvering giving a distressed look. Each frame has a fashion print. One has the printer showing. I believe this lovely box was meant to be a jewelry box. It measures 8" x 5" x 3 3/4". The wood is oak. The escutcheon, ball feet, and corner pieces are brass. The outside of the box is in excellent condition. The hasp is bent slightly making a very tight closure. The inside still has fragments of the silk lining. It needs to be removed and replaced. The lining gives the evidence of the age of the box. I would date this to early 1900's.

This is two round boards with ribbon ties which are used to keep doilies or napkins flat_ hence, the name doily press. The top has been burned with a leaf design and beautifully painted in fall colors. In addition, there has been burning to resemble tortoise shell. This work is also named poker work. Excellent condition. An antique that is useful and ready.

This oval tole tray measures 10 1/2" x 14 1/2". This tray appears to be painted by an amateur with yellow roses and green leaves. This tray is in excellent condition. It does not appear to have much age, but it does have a rolled edge.

This is a lovely walnut wood stamp box. The multi-layer design is quite desirable. It measures 2 1/4” x 2 1/8” x 1 1/8”. The top has a white enamel design with a red spot in the center. There is a tag on the bottom which I cannot read.

This small tin measures 1 1/2" 2 1/4" x 3/8". It has a brass finish to the tin. The top is decorated with racing horses with stands in the background. The bottom is marked Bryant & May's Wax Vestas Made in England. It does show wear and has some oxidation. The bottom has a striker as well.

I have a special affinity to the Russian tole. The painting is done with such skill with lacquer paints giving a high gloss finish. This small tray may be called a tip tray, it measures 8 3/8" x 6 3/8". The center has a large coral rose surrounded with smaller flowers. There is a gilded design in the corners and around the raised rim. There is a signature, BEA.C.

This small frame is brass with a mosaic inlay. There are strips of red on either side of blue and white daisy flowers. There are round feet. One of the feet has lost its mosaic flower. The frame measures 2 3/8" x 3 1/2". It has a twisted wire stand. The frame is in good condition with minor loss of mosaic shell. One corner is bent. There is glass and the original paper backing. This type of frame was popular around 1910.

Love this bright metal tray. It measures 10 1/2" x 13 1/4". The rim of the tray is a bright red. The main image is a hunting dog amidst limbs with fall colored leaves. There are a few scratches and wear to the edge. Great for display or to use. This would make a good Father's Day present.

This small wood-burned (Flemish Art) bowl is deeply burned and painted with vivid reds and greens. The bowl measures 5 1/2" in diameter and 2 1/2" tall. There are three wooden ball feet. It is in very good condition. There are two small tight cracks at the rim. This is very common in pyrography pieces.

This is a bit of unusual folk art. It is a card box measuring 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 3 1/2". It has a divider in the middle. The wood box itself appears to be the kind that were sold as a kit for wood burning decoration. This one has had punched tin added for decoration. The punch design is floral. In addition to the tin, are red and green stones. Good condition.

I am sure at one time this pair of column garnitures were part of a mantle clock grouping. Now is is just a pair of columns. Each measures 10" tall and 5 1/2" across the base. This is a pair of wall shelves made from wood. Each measures 13 1/2" wide and 11 1/2" tall and a depth of 5 3/4". Each shelf has two round hole measuring 3" in diameter. I am not sure of the purpose of the holes. If the shelf is used for displaying a cup and saucer, the saucer would recess in the hole making for a more stable set-up. Each shelf has a scalloped design around the edges. There is a hole at the top for hanging. They have been painted several times. Currently it is mat black.

This papier mache bowl measures 5 1/2" in diameter and 2" deep. It appears this could be used and probably has been used for a plant saucer. There is water damage in the bottom. The sides are beautifully painted with an oriental flare. The background is a deep brown. There are small flowers and leaves. There is gilding on the design.

This frame is black lacquer papier mache. There are two frames hinged to stand on a table top. The frames measure 8 1/4” x 6 1/4”. The openings are 6 1/4” x 4 1/4”. The photographs slip into a slot on the top. There is no glass. The Mother-of-Pearl decoration flowers, birds, and snow flakes. There is also a thin MOP line around both the inside and outside of the frame.
