Another early biscuit tin. This one is easily recognized as a Bell. The embossed lettering reads, "When Ye Doe Ringe, I Sweetly Sing". How cool is that? The motto was used fairly often on church bells. The finish is oxidized copper. There is a handle on the hinged lid. The bottom is marked Huntley &Palmers Biscuits Reading London England. There is some finish loss, but overall the tin is in very good condition. This tin measures 7" tall and 6" in diameter at the bottom.

I have had this tin once before. It's amazing how the early 20th century tins were made to copy fine wood products. This large tin was made to emulate a Sheraton Knife Box with inlay design. This urn or vase shaped antique tin is a wonderful find. After much searching I found the tiny marks on the bottom, Hudson Scott & Sons Ltd. Carlisle. That dates this tin before 1922. Hudson Scott was one of the first manufacturers to do offset lithograph in making the tins. They were closely associated with Carr Biscuit Manufacturers. This biscuit tin has a faux leather finish. There is a handle, a latch, and 2 clasps. The hinged lids fold back. All are working perfectly. The tin measures 8" x 6" x 4". The bottom is marked Huntley & Palmers Biscuits Reading London. The original color was probably that shown on the bottom. The sides and top have faded to a pale greenish gold. There are some minor dents. Great find.

This Six-sided tin has a hinged lid. It measures 6 1/2" in diameter and 3 1/2" deep. The top has an embossed design of a woman in a grain field. Each of the six sides have scene's from the harvest. This antique British Biscuit tin is really early dating to the 1880's. It has been named FISHERMEN. The top and the sides have views of fishermen, their wives, and children. The tin measures 6" tall and 5 1/2" wide and 3 1/4" deep. The bottom is marked Huntley & Palmers Biscuit Manufacturers Reading London. It has a hinged lid and shaped like a tea caddy. There are scratches. The lid is a bit lifted on one end. Really nice condition for a tin of this age.

This rectangular tin measures 9" x 6 1/2" x 2". The lid has a lithograph of a horse and jockey. It is labeled EARLY MIST WINNER OF THE GRAND NATIONAL 1953.
