The page measures 8" x 11". It has a single opening for Carte De Visite (CDV) measuring 2 1/4" x 3 1/2". This page is in excellent condition. This would make a lovely mat for a vintage or modern photograph. Scrapbookers may also find this very useful.

This pair of measures are a bit unusual. The lip of both appears to be brass. I have not seen this before nor have I found any document. The measure verification touch mark on the rim (VR Crown 349) as well as the measure (Gill and Half Gill) is on the brass rim. The bellied (bulbous) bell has a thick band around the seam. Another early biscuit tin. This one is easily recognized as a Bell. The embossed lettering reads, "When Ye Doe Ringe, I Sweetly Sing". How cool is that? The motto was used fairly often on church bells. The finish is oxidized copper. There is a handle on the hinged lid. The bottom is marked Huntley &Palmers Biscuits Reading London England. There is some finish loss, but overall the tin is in very good condition. This tin measures 7" tall and 6" in diameter at the bottom.

I have had this tin once before. It's amazing how the early 20th century tins were made to copy fine wood products. This large tin was made to emulate a Sheraton Knife Box with inlay design. This urn or vase shaped antique tin is a wonderful find. After much searching I found the tiny marks on the bottom, Hudson Scott & Sons Ltd. Carlisle. That dates this tin before 1922. Hudson Scott was one of the first manufacturers to do offset lithograph in making the tins. They were closely associated with Carr Biscuit Manufacturers. This is two round boards with ribbon ties which are used to keep doilies or napkins flat_ hence, the name doily press. The top has been burned with a leaf design and beautifully painted in fall colors. In addition, there has been burning to resemble tortoise shell. This work is also named poker work. Excellent condition. An antique that is useful and ready.

This pewter measure has a bellied or bulbous body. The handle and the thicken band over the seam at maximum body diameter dates this measure to 18-26-50. The measure measures 3 3/4" in height and 2 3/4" in diameter. The neck is marked "half pint". The rim has the initials S.C. Under that it has possibly "NcF". This one has seen better days in that is is dented and bent. Still I nice early measure.

I believe this lovely box was meant to be a jewelry box. It measures 8" x 5" x 3 3/4". The wood is oak. The escutcheon, ball feet, and corner pieces are brass. The outside of the box is in excellent condition. The hasp is bent slightly making a very tight closure. The inside still has fragments of the silk lining. It needs to be removed and replaced. The lining gives the evidence of the age of the box. I would date this to early 1900's.

This large sconce has three arms with candle holders. Each candle holder has 6 prisms. The sconce is cast brass and appears to be Italian. The top has a large bow. The bottom has a bow as well. The sconce measures 18" x 15" and stands 10" from the wall. It is in excellent condition.
