This suit is a 1960s MAD MEN era of fabulous fashion! If you like the classic styles and love wearable beautiful vintage, this is the suit for you.

This vintage suit is a fine wool tweed. It is bonded and will not loose shape. This kind of fabric is hard to find now and very expensive when you do. The colors are black, white and a hint of soft yellow loomed in a herringbone pattern.

The jacket is accented with very narrow black braid piping. This piping is done around the collar and down the front of the lapels, at the hemline and around the belt. The buttons are excellent black plastic and set the style off to a "T." Button holes are machine bound. They are excellent. The jacket is the classic box cut so indicative of the early era. There are darts at the bustline.

The back is cut in one piece of fabric with no darts. This is a very nice "extra" touch. This cut took extra fabric, and it is worth the effort. It gives the back of the jacket a nice unbroken line and display of the fabric pattern.

The sleeves are set in, and are a straight cut, with slight darts at the inside of the elbow. The sleeves are cut in once piece of fabric. Again the pattern is unbroken and is a sign of thoughtful design. This is a simple, elegant silhouette. The jacket is fully lined in black silky fabric, probably acetate.

The skirt has a side zipper and button closure. There is no waist band, but has darts for a simple, easy fit on the top of the hip line. The hem has been "let down", but this was very well done and does not show a tell - tell line.

This fabric is soft, and the bonding on the back makes it a non scratch wonder. Condition is ABOVE EXCELLENT, no stains, holes, odor, weak seams or signs of significant wear. The fabric is strong and fresh. This set is in immaculate condition. The label is Frank - Lee of California

Measurements in INCHES: Jacket: Bust 38, waist 36, hip 38, across upper back 15 & 3/4, sleeve from shoulder to cuff is 22 inches, Length from center back to hem is 24 inches. The belt is an accent and is not adjustable.

SKIRT: waist 23, hip is up to 35, Length from waist to hem is 22 & 1/4. There is no hem allowance.

The jacket is meant to be worn loose and NOT fitted or tight. Please measure a similar item in your wardrobe for best fit. This is NOT a size large, despite the measurements. It is best for a size medium frame.
