This is a very DRAMATIC Victorian Styled Blouse by Jessica McClintock circa 1989. It is a stand out, runway worthy garment.

The one piece blouse is done in khaki cotton blouse with lace insets. This very detailed lace over netting, has a finished edge all through the fabric. The lace has a water lily design.

There are very exaggerated mutton chop sleeves. They are full and gathered high at the cap. The shoulder of the sleeves are full and have self fabric shoulder pads. The sleeves become more narrow and are very fitted at the wrist. The fore arm of the sleeve is held tight with a row of button and loop closure. They are extra long so the sleeve can be pushed up to accentuate the mutton shop silhouette.

The stand up neckline and front panel inset are done in the lace over the khaki fabric. The princess, semi-fitted front is repeated in the back. It closes down the front with a button and loop closure. LOVELY molded lace buttons are done in plastic and are coordinated to the fabric color. GREAT BUTTONS!

NOW for the back! Semi fitted princes lines with self fabric bow in back. This extra wide bow sits above a pleated, drop back peplum that forms a "V" and falls well below the waistline. VERY Victorian styling captured by this California designer in the late 80s. Wouldn't this be fabulous over a long velvet skirt and worn with loops and loops of faux pearls and gold chains! OR... with a pair of riding pants ... If you do re-enactment this is a wonderful piece.

Absolutely top notch construction. It is finely finished with excellent over casting, and reinforcement of seams AND flat finish seams even on the hem! Beautifully made and in MINTY condition.

BUST: UP TO 36

Waist: up to 34

Hips: best for 36 but will accommodate up to 38 with no distortion of the lines

Sleeve from SHOULDER to hem is 26 inches NOTE: This is an extra long length so the blousing and push up of the sleeve is made more dramatic!

Across upper back: 16 inches shoulder to shoulder, Center back to hem is 35 inches / that is from the center of the neck to the very tip of the "V" hem in back.
