The Pigeon style blouse, identified with the Gibson Girl look can be worn today with all the grace and style of days gone by. This all cotton blouse features lavish lace work / insets and trim ( see close up pictures ) Medallions, insets and dainty trim!
This work is found on the bodice and "mutton chop" style 3/4 sleeves. The lace is finely done, open work and has over embroidered accents.
There are a row of original mother of pearl buttons down the back. There is tuck work at the back, The back waist is gathered, and has narrow cotton ribbon ties to adjust fullness.
There are two metal "eyes" at the waist that would have been matched to the hooks of a skirt to secure the two pieces.
Bust 34, waist 28 - 32, Sleeve from shoulder to cuff 16 and center back to hem 16. The sleeves are 3/4 length and the waist is slightly adjustable.
Condition is above excellent. This fabric is very strong and very white. No weak seams or holes. There are two light spots on the side of one sleeve, about the size of a pea. These should come out with a gentle soak.
