1940s Cotton Gown Country Girl's Fancy Dress

This 1940s dress is simply too DARLING! Era specific for a country girl's farm party dress! Perfect for a production of OKLAHOMA, High Noon or The Country Girl.

This one piece, floor length dress features a scoop neckline front and back. The wide scoop yoke is trimmed in a self fabric ruffle that has a trim of red and white rick rack. The bodice is loosely fitted with darts. This was not meant to be a tightly fitted top.

The floor length skirt has a wide self fabric ruffle that SCOOPS up one side. VERY FUN! This ruffle is also trimmed in the lacy rick rack. The skirt is attached to the bodice at the natural waist line.

LOVE the puffed sleeves. They are so sweet. Self fabric piping on the sleeves and at the waist are the perfect finishing touches. There is a side metal zipper with additional hook and eyes to conceal the zipper.

This dress was made by a skilled seamstress at her home sewing machine or by a professional seamstress, to order. The work is excellent. There are are no abnormalities in sizing.

Bust 36, waist 26, hip up to 44 ( VERY FULL SKIRT ) shoulder to hem: 52. There is no hem allowance.

The fabric is 100% cotton with a smooth finish. Condition is ABOVE EXCELLENT, freshly and ready to wear, after a quick once over with an iron. The white field is printed with a navy blue, green and red plaid like design.
