This is a classic formal suit set: i.e. dress with jacket, from the mid 1950s. In unworn condition it is a terrific find for the collector or for resale! Elegant baby blue lace with satin accents. This is a SOFT lace. I believe it is nylon as it is so soft and not at all scratchy.

This ensemble is perfect for a bride doing a second wedding, mother of a bride, or even Sunday church meetings. Without wearing the jacket you have a cocktail dress!.

The one piece dress with self fabric straps, closes in back with a metal zipper. The f rows of scalloped lace on the bodice form an "angel" bodice. The lace falls over a set-in satin cummerbund. The skirt with kick pleat is done in 14 rows of scalloped lace.

The matching bolero length jacket has a wing collar, three button closure, 3/4 self fabric sleeves in raglan style with underarm gussets. It is lined in sheer, illusion nylon of the same color as the jacket. Buttons are blue satin and the button holes are welt finished.

The dress is fully lined in silky blue acetate. The label is " DuBarry New York Fashion".

Measurements in inches: Dress: bust 35, waist 28, hip 39, center shoulder to hem is 43 inches with the scalloped edge of the fabric forming the hem line. There is no way to lengthen the dress. It can however be shortened by removing a row of the 2.5 inch lace.

Jacket: Bust 36, the sleeves are not set in on the jacket, so it is very forgiving in fit. Length from center back to bolero style hem is 15.5 inches.

Condition is EXCELLENT, clean and fresh. The color is fresh. This fabric is strong, with no spots, holes or signs of wear. This was probably a "one event" ensemble. There is NO ODOR. Items at Toinette's are always cleaned for you, unless otherwise noted.
