1950s Evening Gown Sheer Embroidered Organdy

Isn't this just about the most luscious dress you've seen today! Especially for you from Toinette's,circa 1955. Minty, marvelous and oh....SO FEMININE.

The one piece, floor length dress with scoop neckline has short sleeves cut as one with the bodice. There is a whimsical trim of embroidered flowers around the neckline. Dainty flowers in pinks and purples. The fitted bodice joins the FULL skirt at the natural waistline.

The dress is fully lined in white taffeta with the bodice lining being boned and standing free of the dress. There is a side metal zippier that works dandy. The skirt has a single wide tuck near the hemline. The fabric is WHITE organdy, sheer and ethereal. This is a cotton organdy. The embroidery is machine done and the colors are bright and fresh. AND so charming!

Condition is ABOVE excellent. Lightly worn, carefully kept and ready to wear. Rich, strong fabric with more enchantment than one girl deserves! This gown was made by a home or private seamstress. Absolutely PROFESSIONAL work! There are no size or manufacturer tags.

Measurements in inches: Bust 30, Waist 24, Hip up to 36. Length from SHOULDER to hem 56, Length from WAIST to hem 41. AND a Hem allowance of 9 inches!!! If you are a tall girl, this can be "let down" to your heart's content. The belt is MIA, so I looped some pink net to show you what you can do. Use WIDE ribbon, a group of NARROW ribbons, or a simple silk sash.
