This LAVISHLY decorated pyrographed box is circa 1900. It has the word TIES on the lid as well as a GORGEOUS display of apple blossoms and the profile of an Art Nouveau lady. Her hair and ribbons swirl and float.

The background decoration is done in a wood grain design. The edges in hatch design. The sides are done in a wood grain. The inside of the lid has the same elaborate decoration. This is a quite rare example with the "TIES" being the only example in this extensive collection. On the bottom of the box are some small ink marks.

Never colored, and only partly burned, this delightful box is a LARGE example and measures 12 inches x 3 & 3/4 inches and is 1 & 3/4 inches high. The box construction is excellent with no warping. The little brass hinges are firmly in place.
