This lovely example of American folk art comes from an extensive collection. Please look through the shop for more examples of pyrography (poker art) from this estate.
This vanity glove box is pyrographed with a LAVISH spray of daisies, an Art Nouveau Lady and cross hatching. The only such example in this collection. Inside are bits of news paper / magazine clippings that were used as lining. This delightful box measures approximately 10 & 1/4 inches x 3 & 1/2 inches and is 2 inches high.
The work is excellent and undamaged with no warping. The selling price is written on the bottom as acquired by the collector in the early 1970s.
