This is a unique and rather difficult to find vintage printed pattern dated 1951 by McCall's. All my patterns are originals, never a copy at Toinette's!
This very fun vintage pattern comes from the estate of a lady who sewed wedding gowns and bridal veils for a living. The mannequin in the middle is wearing the perfect 1950s hat made into a headpiece for a bride in 1951.
There are 3 styles given in this pattern. One is for a formal, semi formal cap with curls of fabric and netting a/o beading, another is a COOLIE style that sits on top of the head and has a miniature cone dangling from the crown. The final hat (shown in red) is a cap style with a beaded rosette on either side. These are for head size 22 inch. You can make some very fun hats!
fabric suggestions: felt, velveteen, velvet, corduroy, satin, Antique Satin, Brocade, Faille, Pique, Linen or linen like cotton.
Complete, PARTLY CUT, printed pattern. The envelope shows wear.
If you are inspired to get out your sewing machine, you might want to look through my vintage fabrics. There are hundreds and hundreds of patterns in the shop. Take a peek if you are looking for a different style. I specialize in hard to find sizes and styles from extra small to extra la. ALL vintage at Toinette's open 24 / 7 !
