Antique Needlework instruction book! Rare and ALL ORIGINAL! Here are 174 projects in this 1914 book of crochet patterns all in GERMAN LANGUAGE. Deutsches Häkelarbeitbuch with unique old patterns and European designs.

The title is Hakel-Arbeiten , which roughly translates to crochet work in English. Authors are Marie Niedner and Helen Weber. This is BOOK I done by the authors. This is an invaluable source for identifying and making HEIRLOOM LINENS!

This soft bound book of approximately 55 pages measures @ 7 x 10 & 1/2 inches. Published by Handarbeitsbucher der Deutfchen Moden-Zeitung, which roughly translates to articles from a fashion newspaper. 174 antique patterns are fully illustrated with black and white photographs, FULL, detailed instructions for each piece as well as instructions for final construction is given. All measurements are in centimeters.

These are all ANTIQUE PATTERNS, unusual lace edges for linens, handkerchiefs, doilies, collars and more. Tablecloths, trim and insets for a bedspread, TEA COZY with lovely cut work, very hard to find lacy edges! There is MORE: crochet purses with figural patterns, lace openwork, simple and some intricate.

Curtains and window covers, one with a Cross and the date 1915 worked into an intricate floral and band pattern, charming lace edges for collars, a pattern of figures that look like soldiers in a long band an another of little girls, a long band with the figure of an iron cross and the dates 1914 / 1915 worked into it.

Also: medallions, edges for nightgowns and lingerie, corset covers and pantalets / pantallets. fingerless lace gloves, and some novelty items. The key word for these patterns INTRICATE! I don't find one pattern that is common or simple. These are for the advanced collector and needlework artisan. WONDERFUL lace edges, projects and finishes I have never seen before, darling patterns of long, long ago. A must have for a needlework collector, needlework historian and perfect for a museum display.

The book is in VERY very good condition. There is corner and spine wear as would be expected. Note again: All printed in GERMAN all illustrated projects.
