This 1940s brooch is done with sterling that has a gold wash; vermeil. The center, heart shaped stone is cut both front and back and is an open setting. This stone flashes magenta, garnet, and true red. It is spectacular! It is FIRMLY held in the setting with an embedded "pin" that shows in the back, but not the front.
The heart is surrounded with ruby red and clear stones. The arrow, piercing the heart, is done with the same color stones as the heart; rich garnet red.. All stones are prong set, with open backs.
I find no damaged stones. There is wear to the gold wash at the top most prong on the heart.
Ladies, this is a show stopper! Other than STERLING it is not signed. Could this be an unsigned Eisenberg or early Trifari figural? Whoever made it, did an amazing work of art!
LARGE , DRAMATIC, MASSIVE and wonderful... It measures 3 & 1/4 inches from tip of arrow to the end of the "feathers". It is 1 & 7/8 inches at the wides point.
