This twisted wire name pin / brooch spells out Walter. This is a very hard to find pin. Women's names were most popular; and I have collected these for years.
These were very popular sweetheart gifts during the 1930's through the 1950's. MOST were made "on the spot" at carnivals and fairs, to a customer's specifications. I have collected these for years and love to find odd names. These were often gifts to sweethearts from servicemen during World War I.I.
The metal wire was usually gold filled and is very strong. EXCELLENT penmanship of the artisan! Above excellent condition appearing unworn. It measures 1 & 3/4 inches across and 3/4 inch high.
