These sterling with gold wash brooches were all the rage right after World War II, when precious metal was no longer rationed. This is a terrific example from the era. The design is Deco the look is so Hollywood!
This is done in sheet sterling with arching petals and leaves with a sharp flourish of a sterling ribbon with button to hold the slender rods of the stems. It is marked STERLING on the back. There is minor tarnish that I don't want to use polish on; for fear of removing the gold wash!
The design is dramatic AND there is a good deal of sterling here! This is a large brooch. It measures 4 & 3/4 inches long and 2 & 1/2 inches at the widest point. Condition is excellent ... minor scratches, it IS over 60 years old. Only the best for customers at Toinette's!
Insurance is always recommended / not paid by seller
