ALL are intricately molded with a different design. They are wonderful. You could spend a very long time collecting these individually; even with the aid of the Internet.
Someone crocheted this bracelet about 1959, using gold tone metallic stretch thread. The artisan used the standard black glass beads, tiny antique gold tone rosette beads and larger floral beads often found in these bracelets. HOWEVER instead of using modern buttons for the showy pieces she used antique buttons. We are so happy she did!
There are 7 different black glass buttons circa 1890. They are either 1/2 or 5/8 inches across. All have different moldings: scalloped edge flower, good luck figure (reverse of the Nazi symbol), a delicate bouquet of tiny flowers and more. These are lovely.
Two have small chips on the back and some have minor surface scratches that certainly DO NOT detract from this unique presentation. Two have self glass sew through backs and the rest have brass shanks.
The antiqued gold tone buttons a/o beads are plastic. The small accent beads are faceted black glass and are circa 1959. The larger black buttons are Victorian.
The bracelet is 1 & 1/2 inches wide. With no closure it slips over the hand due to the stretchy thread construction. It will stretch UP TO 8 inches to slip over the hand and fits a small to medium wrist. This is not appropriate for a large size.
