This is an authentic, vintage railroad globe - it is NOT a new repro. It is cast with the Kopp logo "Circle K" at the top.
This globe is approximately 3-3/8 inches tall and 3-1/4 rim diameter. It is in super nice condition with no cracks or chips, and no cloudiness of the glass. It does have the usual light rim scuffs expected from use, that do not detract.
------------Railroad Globe Color-------------------------------------
White (clear or frosted) - safety, a signal that it is safe to proceed
Red (cranberry or ruby) - danger ahead - a signal to stop
Yellow (Amber or brown) - use caution - proceed at reduced speed
Blue (cobalt) - placed on a car or engine as a signal that it is not to be moved
Green (teal, Kelly or blue-green) - use caution - a signal to proceed slowly; also a green lantern would be displayed on a wreck derrick to signal the engineer of a wreck train
