Older Pennsylvania RR Signal Dept. Lock by Miller - USA Postage INCLUDED

This interesting Pennsylvania Railroad lock by the Miller Lock Company is approximately half brass and half steel -- a round brass center section, surrounded by a steel frame, with a round steel shackle.

It has attractive, strong markings: on the front, stamped PRR S.D. in the railway's familiar keystone logo, and below that, in an arc, is stamped PAT. JULY 12, 1951 . On the back, a large MILLER in a box is stamped, over SECURE LEVER .

This lock is locked shut, and we do not have a key. It apparently takes a flat key. The keyhole is on the very bottom edge - Please see photos!

This lock would be an eyecatcher, without too much work on a collector's part. It has been painted at least twice, once with black and once with silver color paint. Much of the paint has worn off.

An unusual lock, we have not seen one of these before. It would be a terrific addition to any collection of earlier railway padlocks and keys, especially for a Pennsy fan.
