Here is something for the railroad nut who thinks he has everything - a marked NYCS galvanized steel 12-quart pail in extra nice condition.

This eyecatching big bucket stands a full 11 inches tall and is 12 inches across the top - the size farmers used to milk cows with. It would be perfect in any train room as a magazine holder -- a wastepaper basket -- a ?? -- uses are limited only by the imagination!

This bucket is RR marked in good strong 3/8 inch letters. Its swing bail handle is in perfect condition, and the rivet attachments are solid and tight. No dents, no warps and no twists - only a few light use marks. Soldering is smooth and as sound as new. There is a very small separation where the rim reinforcement ends meet (SEE PHOTOS) but this is not a problem structurally. There are a very few spots of light surface rust that would clean up beautifully, we simply have not taken the time and since it's in the house it is not deteriorating at all!

This bucket would be just fine in original condition or it would look sharp in a coat of flat black paint.
