Two "miniature spoons" grace the tips. Down one side is engraved CANADIAN PACIFIC. On the inside of the other tong is stamped the maker's marking: Mappin & Webb. The engraving is strong and clear, showing virtually no wearing away from use. The silver plate is extremely strong and bright with no worn areas.
This is an older pattern. It is shown in "Silver At Your Service" by Dominy and Morgenfruh. It is number 173 in the book and according to the authors, "This pattern was purchased originally for CP steamships."
An absolutely lovely addition to any collection of railroad passenger dining car items, especially for a grouping of Canadian items.
