Here is a great older Caterpillar Diesel Tractor watch fob - this appears to be a vintage one! On the front a diesel crawler tractor is depicted, above which it says CATERPILLAR REG.U.S.PAT.OFF. Below the arm of the seat, in letters so tiny we could not read them even with a jeweler’s magnifier loupe, we THINK it says CAT over 4 numbers, we can't make out the numbers.

On the back of this fob it says HO PENN MACHINERY CO INC. / NEW YORK CITY, WESTBURY, / POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. / NEWINGTON, CONN. At the very bottom is the name of the company that made the fob, in extremely tiny letters: LEAVENS MFG. CO., ATTLEBORO, MASS.

This fob is in fantastic condition with no bends, warps, splits, cracks or breaks. It has what could be called expected wear from use/age with extremely fine nicks/dings all over and some of the sharp edges rounded off just a bit. It is 1-3/4 inches tall (including the loop) and 1-9/16 inches wide. It appears to be solid brass and is very heavy. On the back it looks like it was made with a silver colored background (chrome or nickel plating?) behind the lettering which was brass and there is a brass edge around the entire piece.
