Here are two absolutely exquisite, very early butter chips from the famous Château Frontenac hotel in Quebec City, Canada. Made by Haviland, Limoges, France, they are the finest porcelain china, so delicate that if you hold one up to the light you can see your fingers through it. This diminutive demitasse cup and saucer set is exquisite French porcelain china made in the Victorian era between 1882 and 1900. It is in undamaged, near mint condition - and its pansy florals are an unusual subject for GDM / Haviland. This exquisite set deserves to be a shelf piece. It was produced by the Gérard, Dufraisseix and Morel Company which took over the Charles Field Haviland company in Limoges, France when Charles Field Haviland retired in 1881 (hence the dual mark).
