This pretty teapot is from the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad (a/k/a Santa Fe), made by Syracuse China. It is authentic heavy railroad ordered ware. The pattern is "California Poppy" with two beautiful full blooms on the "right" side and two buds opposite. It is an individual size holding approximately 2 cups, with a molded tab lid that prevents it from falling off the pot when tipped. Here is an absolutely gorgeous little demitasse set from the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad, in the sought after Mimbreno pattern. Both cup and saucer are in perfect undamaged condition and BOTH of them are railroad backmarked! The little cup is bottom marked simply "Made Expressly for Santa Fe Dining Service," while the saucer carries the full railroad bottom stamp over a Syracuse China marking. Looking closely we can see the Syracuse date code 12-EE which translates into December 1950. ...
