Hand painted by Meito a Japanese Porcelain Co. that is often thought of as Noritake. The founder of Meito started the Co. in 1908 and came from Noritake. Both companies are known for their porcelain china ware as it never cracks and always looks like new if it has never been cracked or broken. This is from the Art Deco Era between 1920-1940. Meito took on new ownership after WWII. This darling Pierrot is sitting down with one knee up to his chest. The bottom part is a salt cellar and the top is a pepper shaker. I thought it was quite unique. It is in perfect condition with the tiniest exception of one teeny nick on the edge of the salt cellar. It is marked "Meito China Hand Painted Made in Japan" in green with a crown on the bottom. This darling piece is three inches tall and 1 3/4" across the base.
