SALE Vinaigrette in Acorn Shaped Cranberry Glass with Hinged Top

This Vinaigrette is from Circa 1820-1840, from what the seller told me. It is lovely and hard to find. It has cranberry glass in the shape of an acorn with a sterling top. The inside has a grille over the opening. The top is an ornate design and in really good shape. I feel a small dent but not really noticeable to the eye. The glass has some rough edges to it, but no cracks or breaks or any major faults. The roughness along some of the edges could be smoothed out by a glass-man if you wish it to be perfect. There is only one teeny chip which could also be smoothed out. It is a vinaigrette that hung on a Chatelaine or as a pendant. I rarely see these anymore. It is small at 1 1/2" long by 3/4" wide. The hinge and clasp are in great working order. So very hard to find. The glass is nice and clear. I see no mark on the silver top. Vinaigrette's were usually made with sterling silver. This looks to be sterling but I have not tested it so cannot say for sure.
