This little French Opaline Patch box is in very good shape with no cracks or chips, however, I think part of the front latch is missing as it does not shut all the way and feels rough on the tip of the brass. A nicely carved box with leaves on the top. It is old and the hinges are a little rusted. Perhaps it was used for an old cigarette box, but is longer than old cigarettes. It is not marked in any way. It is 6 1/4" wide by 4 1/4" deep and 3 1/2" tall. It is quite attractive. There is a little wear on the bottom. The carving on the top is quite nice! Thanks for dropping in!

Most likely from the Turn of the Century is this thick porcelain scent bottle. I'm not sure if it was used for smelling salts or perfume. The hinge is a little loose and in the pictures you can see it has a hairline crack. I do not find a mark on the silver so I must assume it is not sterling. Still a lovely piece and has good integrity to it.

From 1918 out of Boston, Mass. came this powder box called "Jonteel". Jonteel was also the name of a perfume. Ligget's later became United Drug Co. This box is stable and full of powder, and is not sealed. Be careful when opening. The graphics are great! The edges show wear but the box is in good shape. There are two marks where apparently price tags once were. 3" wide.

Here we have two Guilloche enameled top perfume bottles or for cologne. These bottles are crystal with an inner glass stopper and then the screw on brass and gold / amber Guilloche tops. The bottles are in very good shape with just one little nick in the Guilloche on the side of one top, shown in the picture. Both inner stoppers are still there. I believe this would have been a thimble holder, or for whatever might have been treasured such as a ring or watch. It is made of a Mother of Pearl Oyster shell. You can see the rich color in the M of P shell. The base is a oyster shell too. The inside is coated with a felt-y fabric. Sweet. It stands close to 3" tall and the shells are all about 2 1/2" wide. The hinge is still securely attached.

This boxed perfume bottle is from between 1915-1918, which is the only time I found Harmony of Boston making perfume bottles. This is a lovely triangular shaped bottle with flowers and leaves molded into the glass. It is in great shape along with the original box.
