His CDV is in very good condition with only a few freckles of foxing and a small discoloration on the card beneath the very clear photo of the Crown Prince. Note his rather startling eyes. Her CDV has a pale red stain traveling across the image from top to bottom, between mother and son. She is very pretty and young and the look she shares with the camera seems a bit wistful.
Both cards are sepia tone, regular CDV in size and have heraldic devices imprinted on the backs. Below these devices the text reads "Medaglie D'Oro" beneath and "H. Le Lieure Fotografo DI S.S.R.M. Roma Piazza di Spagna Palazzo Mignanelli No. 23,24 & 25 accanto al monum della Concezione Torino, via della Rocca, 6 et 8 Si conservano le negative". Also, in faded ink on the reverse side, at the tops of both cards, is written "Purchased in Rome Dec. 1, 1873 EHD".
