Crystal Patina glaze line with a smooth caramel drip at the neck over a subdued, pale green matte crystalline body glaze. Bottle form, the globular body tapering to a tall 'stick' neck. 10 1/2 inches tall; hand incised "Clifton 1905" and twice stamped "158". Excellent condition. Shallow groove in flat edge of foot rim (on upper left of the close-up image of base) is the only flaw noted and it was done at manufacture. This is a nice piece of American Art Pottery that is sure to increase in value ...

A superb antique English transferware platter by Davenport. Very dark cobalt blue on a white ground. An uncommonly found platter form, with raised center meat plateau. Border design identifies this as part of the scarce Cornucopia Flower Border series by Davenport ca. 1825. The intricate view is of a pastoral river scene with a buttressed church, arched bridge and house on the opposite bank of the river.
