Jubal Early participated in nearly every major battle in the East, including the First and Second ...

The General in command of forces in Charleston, South Carolina, it was P. G. T. Beauregard who ordered the bombardment of Fort Sumter, April 12, 1861, generally held to mark the beginning of the American Civil War. He fought in the First Battle of Bull Run, in which Confederate forces were victorious, and the Battle of Shiloh, where he took command when General Johnson was killed. A competent soldier it is thought animosity between Beauregard and Jefferson Davis prevented him from accomplishing ...

SOLDSOLD Anthony Carte de Visite Confederate Civil War General Nathan Bedford Forrest

Antiques:Photographic:Cdv
Lieutenant General Nathan Bedford Forrest was a self-made man who had lead a colorful and exciting life prior to joining the Confederate Army and the life he lead during the war was no less eventful. Among the many battles in which he fought were Shiloh, the First and Third Battles of Murfreesboro, Chickamauga, Fort Pillow, Brice's Crossroads, and ...
