Under The Sea art work takes you to a sea diving excursion where you'll swim with exotic shellfish. Enjoy this unique experience any time by displaying this artwork in your tropical themed room. This is a fabulous and rare Limoges tray with sea life. This outstanding and probably "One of a Kind" has been expertly hand painted with underwater scenes in lovely shades of sea foam green, sunny yellow, pale blue, lavender, amber, seaweed green, purple, and chocolate brown. The realistic seashells are placed in three groupings on the outer edge of the platter and are accented with raised enamel highlights, giving them a three-dimensional appearance. The artist has painted the sea weed connecting the shell groupings together. He has used a dark green color that beautifully accentuates the colors of the sea shells. The rim and scrolled handles of the platter have been heavily decorated with rich Roman Gold gilding that is in excellent condition. Platter has no chips, cracks or crazing. . Expert and prolific artist, J.T. Fisher has signed the back. Upon his emigration to the United States in 1904 he started with the Pickard Studios.

Backstamp: Paroutaud Freres - Mark 2 under glaze white ware in green P & P 1903-1907
