Outstanding Limoges Porcelain Plate ~ Rococo Gold Rim ~ Hand Painted with Golden Ferns ~ Laviolette / Elite Works 1896-1900

The ornate rim and simple center design complement each other perfectly. The ornate rim has been painted in gold and a fern like raised relief design is receding down portions of the plate. The artist has chosen to paint one fern fronds in deep golden raised enamel. He has added a few wispy stalks of seeding grass painted in a deep gold. This is all painted on a creamy beige matte finish. It is hard to imagine this plate is over 108 years old. ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! . There are no hairlines or cracks; manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc
