A yellow rose brings to mind all of the sunny, cheerful feelings of warmth and happiness and is purely a symbol of friendship. They can represent feelings of joy and delight, and are an ideal way to brighten someone's day who may be feeling down. Bronssillon has done this perfectly with this beautiful rendition of gorgeous yellow roses! He has chosen a softly scalloped china blank which he has applied a wide rim of roman coin gold. He has placed two wonderful yellow roses, leaves and stems as the main focus of his artwork on this blank. To enhance the roses he has mixed white with the yellow making it appear as if the sun was shinning on the leaves turning them translucent. The immediate background around the roses is in darker hues of browns and burgundies which makes the roses almost pop off the plate. The remainder of the background is a mixture of yellows & creams, adding softness. ‘A. Bronssillon’ has signed the front of this plate making it extra special. He is a famous Limoges artist and is featured for painting beautiful and bold roses in all current reference books regarding collecting antique hand painted Limoges. This plate is in excellent condition with not chips, cracks, or crazing. There is perhaps no other flower that is able to bring out a smile in quite the way that a yellow rose can.
