SALE Exquisite Limoges Porcelain Plate ~ Rococo Gold Rim ~ Hand Painted with Golden Ferns ~ Coiffe prior to 1890

The ornate rim and simple center design complement each other perfectly. The ornate rim has raised relief scroll work painted in gold and a golden sponge effect receding down portions of the plate. The artist has chosen to paint two fern fronds in a soft chocolate brown. He has accented each frond by outlining and adding veins to each leaf in gold. At the base he has painted a golden bow with streaming ribbon to tie the two together. He has added a few wispy stalks of seeding grass painted in a light gold and accented with a soft lilac pink color. It is hard to imagine this plate is over 118 years old. Someone has taken very good care of her. The plate is in excellent condition with not cracks, chips or crazing.
