SOLD Awesome Three Handled Dish Decorated by Pickard Studios~ Vibrant Orange Poppies ~ Artist “Fox” Signed ~ Pickard Studios Chicago IL 1905 – 1910

This unique bowl is hand painted inside and out with colorful red-orange poppies, buds, and greenery on a creamy white background. Each blue green colored leaf and leaf vein is outlined with gold gilding. The poppies appear to be growing out of the center of the dishes golden medallion. This pattern is Pickard’s well know “Poppy Conventional” The scalloped rim of the dish is decorated with a wide margin of heavy gold gilding, expertly outlined with intricate dark brown scrollwork. Three looped, upturned gold handles are attached to the decorated sides and curl up into indentions on the scalloped rim. The dish is signed by known Pickard Studio artist, ‘Fox’ who is listed in ‘Collector’s Encyclopedia of Pickard China’ by Alan B. Reed. He has painted thi pattern on a lidded jam jar with under plate on page 171. Absolutely in excellent conditions looks like they painted it yesterday!
